From what my dealer said as long as it was just the plastic dimple that was broken and not the center column then you are good other wise you need to replace the whole assembly for that one part.

A trans cooler won’t help if there is suction side restriction or leak because it’s the cavitation that’s causing the whine. We’re assuming it’s actual pump whine and not something else like an input bearing, pump bearing or such.
